History
Immerse yourself in 2000 years of bathing culture. Our spa center is located in the heart of Carnuntum, which developed into one of the most important military bases on the Danube Limes during Roman times. The Romans valued the healing powers of the iodine-sulfur water and tapped the mineral spring. The effects of the spa, which was already used in the Middle Ages, were described as early as 1548 in a report by the Vienna Medical Faculty. The "Ludwigsdorff's Spa Book" (first edition 1634) discusses the spring and its medicinal effects in detail. The spa center has been family-owned for more than 300 years and continues to be privately managed.
